Thierry Mugler Angel éclair

“French gourmet food brand Fauchon has developed a limited edition éclair honoring Thierry Mugler's limited edition fragrance, Angel Eau Sucrée. The éclair offers an exquisite union between two senses: smell and taste. The composition of the fragrance has been translated into a gourmet treat filled with a rich marbled cream. At its center, the crunchy cake contains a bitter chocolate and almond praline, which contrasts with the Madagascar vanilla cream, accented by a touch of lemon and caramel.  Fauchon's Angel éclair can be purchased May 19 to June 7 at its original store in Paris.”

For Summer 2014, the limited edition Angel fragrance has been updated with top notes of red berries and caramelized meringue and base notes of patchouli and vanilla.

Mother's Day Gift Guide: Fragrance

 Mothers Day Fragrances
While flowers are a standard Mother’s Day gift, the seasonal blooms often wilt days after they are arranged. Why not give Mom a bouquet she can enjoy year-round? Take a look at Instyle’s list of top fragrances filled with delicate floral notes Mom is sure to love.

·         Flash by Jimmy Choo –  Just like the perfect pair of Jimmy Choo heels, the label's ultra-light blend of tangerine, jasmine, white lily, and heliotrope adds a chic accent to any outfit.

·         Valentina Assoluto – An airy blend of white flowers, peach, and vanilla, Valentino's Valentina Assoluto smells as pretty as it looks sitting on her vanity.

·         Fiori by Vince Camuto – Camuto looked to his personal garden for inspiration to create this freesia, sandalwood, and pink grapefruit spritzer.

·         Live Colorfully by Kate Spade – The mandarin, tiare flower, gardenia, and coconut water notes prove to be as lively as the designer's printed frocks.

·         Givenchy Dahlia Noir L’Eau – The mixture of rose petal, peony, and neroli make for a fresh mood boost.

Eau de Cocktails

At Heinemann Duty Free, we know all about perfumes and spirits. But professional bartender, Arnd Heiβen, takes this a step further, masterfully blending both worlds to create perfume-inspired fragrance cocktails. These cocktails have been enthusiastically welcomed both by guests at his bar in Berlin’s Ritz Carlton and by trade press critics across the globe.

Arnd has now created new fragrance cocktails exclusively for us, and you can try these for yourself in our new Heinemann Duty Free shops in Terminal A/2 at Frankfurt airport. Come along and enjoy a delicious sweet-smelling “eau de cocktail” at our cocktail bar. Every six weeks, you’ll have the chance to try out new creations – always including two cocktails inspired by ladies’ perfumes, two cocktails inspired by men’s fragrances and an alcohol-free cocktail. We look forward to seeing you.

A Real Treat or Half-Baked?

The cronut has inspired the hunt for the next big hybrid. Smart bakers are abandoning the croissant-donut formula and examining their own pastry cases with a speculative eye.  The race to invent the next big thing in hybrid desserts is on, and its fierce. Here are some of the most promising:

Scone/Muffin
The scuffin, sold at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market  in San Francisco, has a stout, scone like dough formed in a muffin shape and a shot of fruit preserves in the center.

Mallomar/Macaron
The mallomac, a French-style macaron from Dana’s Bakery in New York, presses a brown sugar meringue cookie against a marshmallow, sealed together in a chocolate shell.

Birthday cake/truffle
A signature of the Momofuku Milk Bar, yellow cake ground mixed with cream cheese and rainbow sprinkles is rolled into balls and coated in cake crumbs.

Pie/Milkshake
This is what happens at Hill Country Chicken in the Flatiron district when a miniature pie is dropped into a milkshake machine with vanilla ice cream and enough milk to blend it into a drinkable mass.
